The Four Seasons
The Four Seasons is a participatory mural commissioned by Wandsworth Council and curated by Emergency Exit Arts at Roehampton Library. The large-scale work reflects the Alton Estate’s modernist ideals of openness and togetherness while honouring the diverse communities that call it home. Stretching across the library’s tunnel, it traces the passage of a year in Alton. Developed through extensive research and community workshops, the mural captures the estate’s social fabric and strong sense of belonging. Adalberto also reimagined the estate’s original colour scheme into a bold new palette and worked with over 50 residents, through research and workshops, to express their memories anchored to landmarks such as the church, tower blocks, rooks, and the library itself.
